Love and Support

Over the last four weeks we have felt so much love and support through what other people have done for us. We've had many meals and food made and dropped of, hundreds of messages, emails, texts and so many beautiful things given to us.

The morning after Noah passed away we had to drive back home from Hobart in the van with the boys and Noah's empty wheelchair.  It was hard to leave Hobart knowing that Noah's body was still there, and to look at the wheelchair on the way home.  When we jumped in the van though we were so touched that on the front seat were bags full of food, drinks and treats for the ride home and a tank full of petrol.  It made the trip home much better, especially for the boys.  Thanks guys - you know who you are :)

We have also been overwhelmed with the generosity of different people.  We have opened up cards with money in them, and sometimes we don't even know who it's from, as they hadn't signed their name.    One card came from a beautiful family who gave us a large amount of money to to do something special with the boys on the 'harder days'.  It meant so much to us that people would do something so lovely for us.

Other people have donated money to different organisations such as the Make a Wish Foundation in Noah's name.

The first few days after Noah passed away, and even this week we have had beautiful fresh flowers delivered to our door from lots of different people and places.

It has also been so nice to get so many beautiful cards in the mail.  Some days we were getting 10 or more a day, and it was so crazy here at home that I felt like I hardly had time to sit down and read them all.  They are all together in a special bag, and over the next few weeks I'm planning on sitting down and reading them all over again as I can hardly remember the first two weeks after Noah passed away, let alone remember all the beautiful messages in them and who they were from.

Apart from the beautiful flowers and cards we have also been given so many beautiful gifts from different people.   There are so many wonderful ideas out there, and we have been so blown away by how lovely they all are. It has made me think so much about what I can do for others if they are ever in a similar situation.  Thank you to everyone who has done so much for us.

These are some of the beautiful things that have been given to us.  I won't mention everyone by name, but to everyone who has done something for us big and small - whether it be a meal, a card, a note, an email, flowers or a gift - we appreciate and love them all, and can't thank everyone enough.

 Japanese Maple Tree

Gorgeous cupcakes delivered and made by the Cupcake Fairy.  We were especially touched by what was on the top - especially the monkeys and angels.

Miniature peach tree with a message saying 'every time you eat some fruit from it, think of the joy that Noah gave you'.

Cute monkey bandaids. Suddenly the boys have a lot of cuts and scrapes that need bandaids!

Each of us were given a 'Run for a Wish' top from the Run for a Wish Committee.

Rhododendron bush

Beautiful Willow Tree figurines

A Christmas decoration for each of the boys that we can put Noah's photos in.

A HUGE hamper of goodies from Kings Meadows High. It also included books and gift vouchers for the boys. They thought it was Christmas!

and just in case we didn't have enough treats, another hamper from some other friends (hence why we've both put on a lot of weight in the last month!:)

a beautiful chocolate bouqet and Hawks teddy.

Our very own helium tank and balloons so we can 'take a balloon to Noah whenever we want to'.

A very special letter from the Hawthorn football club which friends had organised.

A beautiful song written and sung especially for Noah by our very talented friend Bec. We love it so much.

My beautiful angel wing necklace from some very special friends overseas, which came from The Vintage Pearl.

A gorgeous quilt complete with photos of Noah on it. It now sits on our bed.

A gift voucher to get a canvas made.  We love our new canvas on the wall in our living room.

and our very own star named after Noah, complete with a certificate of registration and maps of how to find it in the night sky.

I don't think we can ever thank everyone enough for how much love you have shown to us over the past month.  It has really helped us to know that we aren't alone in this.  Thank you again.  I'm sure there are other things that I've forgotten to mention and if so please forgive me, as my mind is more muddled than it normally would be (and that's pretty bad!:).

God bless all those kind people.
They even looked after me when I was in your home looking after the boys when you were in Hobart with Noah.
I am so very grateful, and was very touched also by everyone's thoughtful acts.
    Love Mum.

  3. I can't seem to get through a post of yours without tearing up. Even Peter - who hardly ever reads 'our' blog was very touched when he came across your blog the other day. So glad you have a strong network of family and friends...it makes such a difference. Mum and dad said the hardest time was a couple of weeks after Dylan passed away when all the meals and cards etc stopped and they felt the most alone. You are never alone Lisa and family. This blog is no doubt doing wonders for you all at this time too. xx
